Time Warner Dvr Recover Deleted Program Direct

Posted on  by admin

I have noticed that all of my recent recordings from the History Channel (269) are being deleted as soon as I finish watching them, or even if I 'exit' out of them to go to live TV. I EVEN watched one show all the way to the end, and told it to 'NOT DELETE' and it still deleted the show. Older recordings (from last week or earlier) are working as normal.I first saw this associated with the series 'The World Wars' 'but it happens with all recent shows recorded from HISTORY channel including Pawn Stars and even 'Big Rig Hunters.' Older shows (from before this Monday) seem to be follow the regular rules.

Gudang download film gratis. Shows from other channels (MSNBC, local channels, etc.) all seem to be fine. So far I've only seen it associated with History Channel.I will go through the 'red button' reset, and see if that changes anything, but since it is already limited to just a single channel, I am not sure it will make a difference. This feels to me like new functionality at the request of the History Channel. Has anyone else seen this happen to them limited to just 1 channel? OK - so I did the 'red button' reset process. And the problem still persists. I just started watching a program, I FFWD to the end, and waited for it to ask me if I wanted to Delete it or not.

I selected 'No, do not delete.' But the program was deleted anyway. I should point out however, that this 'auto-deleting' thing occurs no matter how I leave the show. It seems that once I start watching it, I can only watch my saved show one time.Next question for me is if any other channels are doing this too? I will test a few and see what I find.

I've haven't seen this problem before try running the BIST test. Don't know why DTV or The History Channel would care about how long you keep a recording except for On Demand which has an expiration date.Run the Built in Self-test (BIST) to try and repair your hard drive. To run the hard drive checks, please follow these steps:.

Recover

Time warner dvr recover deleted program on dvr. DVRs faithfully record your favorite shows, movies and series time and time again, but the ability to recover.

Recover Deleted Files Free

Reboot DVR via red button inside card door. When you see 'Running receiver self-check' press select. You will see 'Entering Diagnostics Mode.' . Select Advanced Tests Menu - Hard Drive utilities - Short Smart testYou can also run the file test, and the DVR can sometimes repair a bad file report. If the other tests pass, run the surface test. Warning: This process could take several hours to complete.

You may want to run it overnight. The good news is that every attempt is made to save programming. This is less destructive than a reformat all and could provide you with a more stable system if you are having problems that appear to be related to the hard drive. If there are any errors it is a sign that the hard drive is going bad and you should replace the receiver $20 shipping or $50 for a tech to come out both free with the protection plan. I am having the exact same issue but it is not limited to the History Channel. I did some experimenting and found that it is also occurring with Lifetime and LMN, among others. It seems to be occurring with those shows that are 'streamed' (the ones that have a curved arrow behind the title in the channel guide). These shows can be streamed from the beginning if you tune in late.

Also, this auto-deleting seems to have started in the last couple of days, which is about the same time that I have noticed the curved arrow designations. Yes, really b/c DirecTVs 'chat' technicians are there (apparently) to tell you to 'reset your receiver'. Or the old standby: Is it powered in? Or.we'll send a technician. What is remarkable (disturbing, in fact) is that DirecTV's reps express zero interest in what (in this case) was an obvious s/w or content delivery issue.

You would think there would be at least a modicum of curiosity. Really, only the History Channel (actually, I didn't go through all 528 channels, I thought maybe someone at DirecTV might.ok.ok)I have two DVRs and, yes, I reset them. The problem persists (as, I expected). Funny, it was the only time in my 15 years w/Directv that I felt the need to recordd the History Channel.

Is DirecTV working on fixing this 'bug'? I tend to think this is part of the new software update that I received right before this began. Meaning that DirecTV wanted this change to happen. Are we sure it's a 'bug' that they are working on fixing?I LOVE my DirecTV service. I brag about them to whoever will listen. I've never had a problem or issue, but if this is a new and permanent feature I'll have no choice but to begin looking at Time Warner cable for service.

I stop shows midway all the time, and like to re-watch some as well. Having them delete on their own simply won't work for me. Hopefully, it's a bug. If it's a feature, and it becomes more widespread, the DVR will be rendered useless as far as I am concerned. My DVRs are not connected to the internet. And, yes it happens on Lifetime too.For any DirecTV tech support spec, if you subscribe to DirecTV, give it a try.

Tune to ch 269 and hit Record. Go to the List and start viewing this recording. Switch to any other content (live or recorded). Try to go back the History Channel recording. It won't be there. Look in History. It will be 'deleted by user'.

This message should be changed to 'deleted by DirecTV', BTW.
