Manufacturers change specifications - it happens.Actually I anticipated that Android will not be implemented on Dune Solo 4K in one of my previous posts on 23 of October 2016.Although the arguments I used at that time are not so good, I had a feeling that this will happen.Sorry to quote myself. Dune is notorious for not be able to keep their promises to its customers.I am Dune customer from 2008 when I bought a Dune HD Max and I can remember, at least 2 times, when Dune failed, big time, to keep their promises.HD Max is featuring 2 strange connectors. Dune said it will produce some boards to connect to the 2 connectors and do some fancy things.What a dream!

An up-gradable product!Dune also promised it will upgrade Sigma processors for its HD Max customers (aftermarket), on customer's cost.I could not resist and I bought a HD Max! It was about the same price as it is Solo 4K.I was dreaming to the day when I will have a new processor and the extension boards.As you could guess, it did not happen.After that, Dune never excused to the customers for not keeping their promises.Dune simply moved to a new product and forgot their promises.It could happen in Dune Solo 4K case, I hope not.Dune is promising it will bring Android on Solo 4K. Fine.Developing Android will be an investment for Dune.

It was extremely stable when I got mine in 2012.They were still providing firm wares until fairly recently. In fact the first firmware release is dated and the last.

Anybody been messing with media hardware for more than a minute.should. know that you never buy a piece of hardware because of what it might be able to do in the future. How many promised PRO models where announced, Did anyone ever get the upgrade board for the max/smart series? A agree changes happen but I think a lot of us old time people are so used to it we dont even notice anymore and just pass it off, when as a customer you should voice your opinion and do returns or something to show what the customers want. That didn't start with the solo but as far as old Base models (untaru gives a good overview in his post), from extension boards, youtube apps, source direct output, upgradable players, HD audio removed from some players.
